DPR loves robots... and porn...

Z just announced our upcoming Robot Friends project on Hipster Please. The basic idea is that on February 7th, Z and I will each release a robot themed episode of our podcasts. Radio Free Hipster doesn't have a subscribe link, but you can subscribe to Z's blog HipsterPlease.com.

Drown Pirate Radio is easy to subscribe to here.

I'm really excited about Robot Friends, I'm going to debut a new track called Robot Apocalypse featuring Schaffer The Dark Lord on vox, my beats, and scratches by Lord Illingworth.

Following the Robot Friends episode, I'll release another Drown Pirate Radio episode in late February. This time the theme will be SEX! The sex episode, titled Audio Erotica, will feature some porno soundtracks, nerdcore songs, found recordings, and dirty lounge songs.

As a special treat for the sex podcast I got an interview with porno director and Vivid Alt business manager Eon Mckai and adult movie starlet Dana Dearmond. How cool is that? Very! It is very cool.

We talked about the evolution of porno soundtracks and the role of music in alt porn. Dana even geeked out talking about chiptunes and one of her favorite bands the Nintendudes.

Yo-Yo Segment On Cartoon Network

RE-EDIT:
Alright, I just found out there are a few different versions of this Cartoon Network video.
One is only 1:15 long and I appear at the end doing the "Martini".
The other is 3:15 and I get a few good quotes.
So... I'm still trying to catch the good version. But I can't fucking watch all that anime for one more second.
Below is the shorter version.

Geeks Gambling

3 Stanford mathematicians and 1 community college drop out discuss odds at a all you can eat buffet in the Rio Hotel (Las Vegas).

Monzy plays the perfect sqaures while Doc sticks to numbers divideable by eleven.

Given the odds, if you bet $100,000 your estimated return is $96,000.

It's like racing in the special olympics; even if you win...

Note, the cats from Purdue were way too smart to play Keno.

Video features Monzy and his live band (John and Paul), Doctor Popular (aka Drown Radio), Theresa, Lord Illingworth, and MC Plus+.

ps, this is part 1 of "The worst podcast ever" series.

Doc Pop interview with One Minute News and others

"This is enough for me to have future shock: there is a group of programmer-geek-types who are rapping...about geek things.

Even podcasting and videoblogging.

They have formed a community on the Internet called NerdCore, and I learned at CES they have groupies. A lot of them! Nerds around the world, join the movement! And Doctor Popular is their fearless leader and a super cool guy.

We had to do this interview in the bathroom of a CES party because the party was, well, raging with NerdCore-ites and their female fans...:) And a big thank you to the fantabulous Bill Streeter for some truly excellent shooting of this video."

"We recently found ourselves in Las Vegas for the ginormous annual Consumer Electronics Show. Spanning several massive floors in several massive buildings, this is the event for all things gadgets, geek and just plain wtf? You've already heard about the 100"+ HD plasma displays, the Blu-Ray disc players, the portable 1TB disk drives. So rather than waste your time rehashing all that, we thought we'd have Irina take you on a tour of some of the more obscure finds at CES."

Here is a clip of Karl at Podtech's BlogHaus. This was perhaps his best performance of the entire trip too.

yT Cracker's set from BlogHaus. Btw, yT was a dope dude. He was one of the very few people that introduced themselves and said hi. Plus, his performance at DivX was really dope.

At the DivX booth right now...

Nerdcore hip hop is in effect behind me. Specifically the surprisingly sober Hi-C is working through some technically difficulties.

Left the bay area early yester-mornin'. Road trippin' with two Stanford studends who like McDonalds a lot. I had runny poop.

Funniest moment?

John- "Mapquest says 'exit left on 42B'."

Paul- "42B or 42 not to 'b'?"

Doc- "That is the ultimate question to Life, The Universe, and Everything. Zang!"

w00t!

My podcast is getting all loved up on by the internets...

Word!
and Double Word!

Oh, wait a minute... I never mentioned my podcast on here, did I?

It was a lot of hard work. Literally 14 hours of editing (and capturing vinyl), and 4 hours to get it online.

The second episode is now finished and should be online on Jan 9th, the same day as my Beauty Bar Show in Las Vegas.
